ABOUT Barrow Island

Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a 2:1 roster on Barrow Island.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to be part of our team and ongoing success. Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, this role will help deliver civil and earthworks packages, structures and underground services, covering various disciplines like in-situ concrete, pre-cast concrete, trenching and utilities.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Focusing on overall project objectives and communicating them to team members in accordance with Project Management Plans 
  • Ensuring work is consistently delivered at a high standard and on time
  • Providing input to work plan at the start-up phase
  • Supervising the team according to work plan during the construction phase
  • Promoting teamwork between all crew members & working with them to overcome challenges
  • Leading the creation of a safe working environment
  • Delivery of Daily Pre-starts, ensuring HSEQ standards are implemented, Ensuring Relevant Permits are in place, Daily Record Keeping and working with the team to deliver to the agreed programme.  

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Moderate-high level of experience in supervising teams (~10-20 staff)
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings 
  • Relevant civil &/ or general construction industry experience 
  • Ideally previously touched such areas as large concrete structures, earthworks / trenching / civils around structures, precast concrete and piping
  • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. conflict management)
  • Demonstrated client relationships management skills 
  • A mature approach having gained experience by driving the works on the ground.
