ABOUT BARROW ISLAND

Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf stimulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is available on a 12 month Fixed-term opportunity, based on Barrow Island on a 2:2 roster.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced HSE Lead to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for minimising the occupational risks and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and Ertech standards.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Manage a team of 4-5 direct reports from environmental advisors, H&S advisers and HSE admin
  • Providing guidance and support across all project related HSE matters including risk mitigation, incident management, injury and return to work management and coordinating take 5's, reporting, pre-start's, toolboxes and HSE training packages to ensure continuous improvement
  • Monitoring construction activities to minimise occupational risks and providing advice to ensure compliance with HSE Management Plans, OHS legislation and Ertech standards
  • Maintain ISO accreditations ensuring periodic audits are scheduled to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure the company meets the necessary legislative obligations and drive the continuous improvement of health and safety throughout the company.
  • Understand and drive improved health, safety and environmental risk control across the supply chain and be a key driver to implement HSEQ strategy.

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety highly desirable
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessing
  • 5+ years HSE Advisory experience (civil/ construction/ mining/ oil and gas ideal)
  • Generalist HSE skills, including incident investigation (iCAM) and Lead Auditing capability
  • RMS experience
