ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent full-time position based on Barrow Island.  Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for leading the work onsite to ensure efficient and effective utilisation of resources. Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Detailed excavation adjacent to or above existing infrastructure and services.
• Interpreting IFC documents, drawings, workpacks, existing service drawings, redline drawings.
• Requesting and working within the controls specified by permits.
• Building and maintaining a safe construction culture; including implementing SWMS, JHAs, Personal Risk Assessments, Group Risk Assessments, and Hazard Observations.
• Field leadership engagement (task and workplace inspections)
• Preparing for and leading pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
• Direct supervision of approximately 15 craft / operators.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Relevant tertiary tickets and qualfications
• 5+ years exposure to civil construction projects in Australia
• Experience setting up and excavating trenches using laser levels / offset pegs / etc. to the lines and levels shown on the drawings.
• Experience digging to level, preparing the foundation, blinding, and lifting and placing precast concrete structures.

ABOUT BARROW ISLAND - Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!
