ABOUT THE ROLE

Ertech have partnered with the country's leading defence authority to deliver pioneering projects that provide critical marine and onshore infrastructure off the coast of Western Australia. The projects will have international scope and present unique challenges and opportunities. You will be full time Wangara based and will regularly attend sites (typically Garden Island in Rockingham in the short to medium term but could be anywhere in Australia). Project delivery, expected to commence late this year.

Your role: 

• Ensure all project activities are effectively led and legally delivered from design through construction, completion and handover
• Manage project start-up, maintain construction schedule and ensure effective handover
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary and diverse teams
• Understand the client’s needs and create a long term, collaborative relationships
• Anticipate and mitigate issues before they arise
• Lead the creation of a safe working environment across all projects, especially critical risk control, lead inputs and incident investigation
• Role model good safety leadership including active communication, anticipation of risk and firm intervention as needed

Your background:

• Experience working with defence (preferably CFI branch either on Estate or Infrastructure projects)
• Experience overseeing a portfolio of projects
• Experience overseeing or bid managing tender submissions for defence business unit
• Ability to manage $100m - $200m of contracts per annum
• Good understanding of defence projects delivery requirements – HSE, Quality (HOTO/CHOTO), reporting
• Good general understanding of all aspects of project delivery – project management, HSE, quality, controls, HR/IR etc
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to regularly attend sites, typically Garden Island in Rockingham but could be anywhere in Australia
