ABOUT US

The Duratec-Ertech Joint Venture (DEJV) is a specialist Defence infrastructure delivery partnership with a strong track record in delivering major infrastructure works at HMAS Stirling, Western Australia’s premier naval base. Building on this experience, DEJV has been engaged to deliver several significant infrastructure projects supporting AUKUS, representing a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity to contribute to Australia’s future Defence capability.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Skilled Labourers to join our Duratec-Ertech Joint Venture (DEJV) supporting our long-term major infrastructure construction scopes in Rockingham.

As a Skilled Labourer you will be reporting to the Project Supervisor and supporting marine construction activities and assist trades personnel across the project.

The person appointed to this role will be employed by The Ertech Group and seconded to the Duratec-Ertech Joint Venture.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with marine construction and piling activities onsite
  • Perform general labouring duties in support of project operations
  • Assist tradespeople including Boilermakers, Riggers, and Supervisors
  • Carry out grouting works and material preparation
  • Operate forklifts and safely move materials, tools, and equipment
  • Assist with mobilisation and demobilisation of plant and equipment
  • Load, unload, and handle construction materials safely
  • Maintain housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and organised
  • Support fabrication, assembly, and installation activities as directed
  • Work safely around marine plant, cranes, barges, and heavy equipment
  • Follow site safety procedures, SWMS, and company policies at all times
  • Conduct basic tool and equipment checks prior to use
  • Assist with manual handling and lifting tasks
  • Work effectively within a team environment to meet project deadlines
  • Report hazards, incidents, and damaged equipment promptly

 

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Experience working on civil and marine piling projects – highly desirable
  • Must hold a current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift
  • Grouting experience essential
  • Working at Heights certification – desirable
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance – essential
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance – essential
  • Australian Defence background – highly regarded
