ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking experienced Concreters to join our team on Barrow Island. Working within a gas plant environment, you will be involved in the construction of new in-situ reinforced concrete structures supporting additional above-ground infrastructure.

Reporting to the Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of concrete placement and finishing for reinforced concrete structures, including foundations, footings, plinths, equipment pads, retaining walls, and associated civil infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, place, spread, compact, and finish concrete to project specifications
• Set up and strip edge forms and assist with formwork activities as required
• Screed, trowel, finish, and cure concrete surfaces
• Assist with concrete pours and placement operations
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Conduct quality checks to ensure concrete works meet project requirements
• Work collaboratively with formwork carpenters, steel fixers, and site teams
• Operate small civil plant and equipment as required
• Comply with permit-to-work systems and site safety procedures

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated experience in civil, or industrial concreting
• Proven experience with in-situ reinforced concrete construction
• Experience placing and finishing concrete for foundations, footings, plinths, equipment pads, and structural concrete works
• Previous experience in an operational gas plant, oil & gas facility, mine site, or similar high-risk industrial environment
• Experience working under Permit to Work systems within oil & gas, mining, or other high-risk industrial environments
• White Card
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance
• Full Australian working rights

DESIRABLE

• Certificate III in Concreting or equivalent
• Experience working on major resource, mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects
• Current High Risk Work Licences and/or civil plant tickets
• Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications

Barrow Island, located approximately 60 kilometres from the mainland and 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier, is home to Chevron’s Gorgon operation and WA Oil operations and hosts Western Australia’s largest oil and gas field.
