ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking experienced Formwork Carpenters to join our team on Barrow Island. Working within a gas plant environment, you will be involved in the construction of new in-situ reinforced concrete structures supporting additional above-ground infrastructure.

Reporting to the Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for the construction, installation, modification, and stripping of formwork systems for a range of reinforced concrete structures, including foundations, footings, plinths, equipment pads, retaining walls, and associated civil infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct, install, modify, and dismantle formwork systems
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Assemble and strip both proprietary and conventional formwork systems
• Ensure all work meets project quality and safety requirements
• Work collaboratively with site teams to achieve project milestones
• Operate small to medium civil plant and equipment
• Comply with permit-to-work systems and site safety procedures

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Trade qualification in Carpentry
• Demonstrated experience with in-situ reinforced concrete construction
• Extensive experience with PERI and/or MEVA formwork systems
• Extensive experience with conventional formwork
• Previous experience in an operational gas plant, oil & gas facility, mine site, or similar high-risk industrial environment
• White Card
• Permit to Work training and practical experience
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance
• Full Australian working rights

ABOUT BARROW ISLAND SITE

Barrow Island, located approximately 60 kilometres from the mainland and 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier, is home to Chevron’s Gorgon operation and WA Oil operations and hosts Western Australia’s largest oil and gas field.
