ABOUT THE ROLE

Join Ertech on one of Australia's premier LNG facilities, delivering a variety of electrical construction projects across the Gorgon Gas Facility.

You'll work on diverse scopes including underground electrical infrastructure, cable installation, temporary power, earthing systems, QA/QC, lighting installations and construction support facilities. Working alongside experienced supervisors and tradespeople, you'll be part of a team delivering high-quality electrical installations in one of Australia's most recognised resources projects.

This role reports to the Electrical Supervisor. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Install underground electrical infrastructure including conduits, cable routes and direct buried cable systems.
  • Pull, install and dress LV, HV, control, instrumentation and fibre optic cables.
  • Install and test earthing systems including earth grids, earth electrodes, earth pits and equipment bonding.
  • Install temporary construction power systems, switchboards, generators and distribution equipment.
  • Install and modify construction lighting, area lighting and temporary lighting systems.
  • Install electrical infrastructure to support crib facilities, temporary buildings and site compounds.
  • Complete cable glanding, termination, testing and verification of electrical installations.
  • Assist with electrical commissioning, pre-commissioning and fault finding activities.
  • Complete QA/QC inspections, red-line mark-ups, ITP hold points and construction documentation.
  • Work safely within live operating facilities under Chevron permit systems.
  • Participate in daily pre-starts, toolbox meetings and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workmanship.
  • Mentor apprentices and support less experienced team members where required.

ESSENTIAL RQUIREMENTS

  • Current WA Electrical Worker's Licence
  • Current White Card
  • Current LVR/CPR
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Experience within the Mining, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industrial Construction sectors
  • Experience installing underground electrical infrastructure
  • Experience with cable pulling, cable support systems and cable terminations
  • Experience installing earthing systems including earth grids and earth electrodes
  • Experience with temporary power installations and construction power distribution
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, cable schedules and construction work packs
  • Understanding of QA/QC requirements including ITPs, inspections and test documentation
  • Ability to work safely within permit-controlled operating facilities
  • High commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
  • National Police Clearance

ABOUT BARROW ISLAND SITE

Barrow Island, located approximately 60 kilometres from the mainland and 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier, is home to Chevron’s Gorgon and WA Oil operations and hosts Western Australia’s largest oil and gas field.
