ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join our team in our Wangara office.

As a Senior Civil Estimator, you’ll take the lead in the development of tender pricing for new major civil construction project opportunities, managing the estimating process from initial assessment through to final submission and post-tender negotiation. You’ll deliver competitive and commercially sound estimates, work closely with our operational and functional support teams, and play a key role in winning new projects and contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead the estimating and tender process from initial opportunity assessment through to pricing, submission and post-tender negotiations.
  • Develop accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates, including labour, materials, subcontractor and project costs, while identifying key risks, opportunities and value-engineering solutions.
  • Develop and execute effective bid strategies in collaboration with Pre-Contracts and Operations teams to maximise the opportunity to secure profitable work.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to support successful tender outcomes and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive continuous improvement across estimating processes, systems and methodologies, incorporating project learnings, market trends and innovative solutions.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior estimators and Quantity Schedulers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, safety and high performance.

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Extensive experience in civil construction, project engineering and project management, with strong estimating expertise with projects above $50m.
  • Proven track record in contributing to the delivery of safe, profitable projects and managing project costs effectively.
  • Strong estimating, cost control, programming and tender strategy capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and effectively engage with key stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of construction and applicable contract law, HSEQ systems and industry best practice.
  • High proficiency in Expert Estimation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, P6 strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance.
  • MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights.
