ABOUT Barrow Island

Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf stimulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent full-time position on 1:1 roster on Barrow Island.

You will be responsible for providing HR advice and support to our business operations, across a range of HR areas such as workforce planning, industrial relations, performance management, training and development, and remuneration and benefits. This role requires strong interpersonal and organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Be the first point of contact for all employee and industrial relations matters with regards to company policies, procedures, entitlements, and employment legislation
  • Develop, implement and review HR processes, procedures and accompanying management tools to support the organisation.
  • Management of workforce planning activities within the business.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and training to Managers and Supervisors to enhance workplace knowledge of HR practices and promote workplace culture.
  • Identification and development of opportunities for enhanced HR reporting and workforce planning, including succession planning and employee retention strategies.
  • Assisting with HR projects from salary benchmarking, remuneration and benefits strategy, and more.
  • Assisting in the provision of HR related information for the tendering and bidding process for future works.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with our operational employees and management teams, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Managing workplace people issues including grievances, performance improvement, conduct and other investigations, disciplinary matters as required.

 

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources and Employee Relations (or equivalent).
  • 3 + years’ experience in a HR Generalist role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary HR practices, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Industrial Relations Framework.
  • Previous experience with developing and implementing policies, procedures and experience in HR process improvements and implementation.
