ABOUT BARROW ISLAND

Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent full-time position on Barrow Island, on a 2:2 FIFO roster.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager. Reporting to the Project Director, this role will oversee several projects (and Project Managers). Project types vary in delivery however primary focuses are in and around civil infrastructure works which include civil & building services such as bulk/detailed earthworks, concrete, pre-casting, pipelines and electrical services. You will oversee and support in project delivery and project close out.

The role is very hands on with managing day to day tasks as well as a multitude of client issues and people issues. The role is also the interface between the project onsite and the Ertech head office. The workload is very high, and the ability to prioritise work is a must.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Manage and be across 6 different projects with multiple clients and the ability to prioritise each project’s needs.
• Motivate, lead and direct your project team
• Provide first point of contact with client and coordinate client project requirements 
• Analyse project information such as contract documents, drawings, specifications and statutory approvals to allow preparation of programs, work break down structures, estimates and budgets 
• Risk management: a focus on safety and commercial (contract management) 
• Resource management: initiation, planning, scheduling of all plant, labour, material and external resources 
• Sub-contractor engagement and management: of supporting consultants, contractors and suppliers 
• Program control: monitor project timeline, milestones and delivery schedules 
• Financial control: effectively track, manage and forecast project budget and profit margins 
• Project reporting: prepare and present project startup, progress and close out reports for the client and executive management team

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• 15+ yrs in project management - within the civil / infrastructure / resources sector
• Engineering qualifications from within a related field is preferred
• Ability to adapt to change rapidly and to meet client expectations.
• Strong people management skills - lead teams and bring people together to develop a culture of high performance
• Strong commercial focus/background is needed.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels to achieve outcomes
• Ability to prioritise in order to meet very high workloads
